Tata Group will soon start manufacturing of iPhone. The company will start manufacturing iPhone for both local and global markets.
This information has been given by Electronics and Technology Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar. The Union Minister said that now Tata will be able to manufacture iPhone in India, this has happened in just two and a half years.
Rajiv Chandrashekhar has posted about this on social media X. Where earlier most of the iPhones sold worldwide were manufactured in China.
Now iPhone manufacturing has slowly started in India. However, till some time ago, old iPhone models were being assembled in India.
Tata acquired
The company has now started manufacturing the latest models in India. The iPhone 15 launched this time is also manufactured in India and is being sold in the market from the first day.

Tata has acquired Taiwanese company Wistron Corp for manufacturing iPhone in India.
The company gave information
Wistron Corp is a supplier of Apple. The company has issued a press release and informed about the acquisition of Tata Group. The company said that they held a board of directors meeting today and have approved their associate companies.
Under this, SMS InfoComm Private Limited and Wistron Hong Kong Limited have been given approval to sign share purchase agreement with Tata Electronics Private Limited.
Tata will get 100 percent shares of both the companies in Wistron InfoComm Manufacturing (India). Under this deal, Tata Group will acquire Wistron Corp’s Karnataka factory.
Why is it special for Tata to have iPhone manufacturing?
Let us tell you that in India only Foxconn and Wistron manufacture iPhone. i.e. in India
iPhone is manufactured, but no local company manufactures it. This is the first time when the command of iPhone manufacturing will be in the hands of an Indian company.
However, Apple still does not assemble all models in India. The company has started manufacturing this year’s latest phone i.e. iPhone 15 in India, but the iPhone 15 Pro series is still manufactured in China.
The company keeps it exclusive in China. Currently, 7 percent of total Apple products are manufactured in India. China is still Apple’s largest supplier.
