Gurugram Police has arrested the person who demanded extortion of Rs 1 crore from Bigg Boss OTT Season-2 winner Elvish Yadav of Gurugram from Vadnagar, Gujarat. After the arrest, accused Shakir has told that he was very influenced by the lifestyle of Elvish. This is the reason why he has demanded extortion from Elvish.
Gurugram Police has arrested the person who demanded extortion of Rs 1 crore from Bigg Boss OTT Season-2 winner Elvish Yadav of Gurugram from Vadnagar, Gujarat.
The accused has been identified as Shakir Makrani (25) of Vadnagar. He had demanded extortion money from Elvish by messaging him on WhatsApp. He had demanded extortion not only from Elvish but also from his manager.
ACP Crime Varun Dahiya said that in the complaint, Elvish Yadav, resident of Wazirabad, Sector-52, Gurugram, told the police that he had recently gone out of the country with his manager. When he returned on October 17, he received threatening messages on his WhatsApp.
Shakir was influenced by Elvish lifestyle
Varun Dahiya told that during preliminary interrogation, accused Shakir told that he was greatly influenced by the lifestyle of Elvish. He used to follow them on YouTube and other internet media.
Influenced by him, he also wanted to become a millionaire soon. Therefore he conspired to carry out this incident. However, he has not used the name of any big gangster in the threatening message demanding extortion.
The accused and his father were involved in brokerage in the RTO
The accused revealed that both he and his father were involved in brokerage in Vadnagar RTO. The police have mentioned that currently, information about the criminal record of the accused is not available.
Further inquiries will be made regarding the individuals who assisted him while he was on remand. The source of the number will also be investigated. A SIM card used in the incident has been recovered from him.
Elvis, who entered as a wild card, emerged as the winner in Bigg Boss OTT-2.
After winning Bigg Boss OTT-2, their fans also grew significantly.
